Let’s take a look at the steps to customize your Twitter profile:

Prepare a background image for your Twitter profile. The images must be smaller than 800k. GIF, JPG, PNG.
Logon to your Twitter account and click “Settings” on the top of your Twitter page.
On the tab that appears, click “Design“.
Notice that there are some available skins which ready to be used. But you can also create your own personal background by uploading your background image. To do it, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Change Background Image” button. Click “Browse” to find your background image on your computer. Check the “tile background” if you want to tiled your background. (repeating image)
Click “Change Design Colors” button if you like to change the background, text, links, sidebar or sidebar border color.
Just click “Save Changes” when you are done with your setting.
